I am slowly running longer times in preparation for the Peachtree in July. Last night, I ran for 36 minutes. It felt oddly delightful. Around the 32 minute mark, I remember thinking "I've got a lot of energy left!" I probably could have run a little longer, which is a good feeling.
I need to remember that feeling when our runs get even longer and I feel really rough.

Awesome! See, I feel like if I just run at a comfortable pace, I can run for a good while. My issue seems to be with keeping a faster pace. Which I'd like to do so I could actually run with you and H. I try to keep up with you guys and burn out quicker because I'm struggling to breathe or I start to hurt.
However, at any rate, you'll be ready for the Peachtree I have no doubt!
Well, if you want to work on speed, there are definitely some techniques you can use. Adding in sprints throughout a regular-paced run will get you speed gains over time. Strength training can also help. We can also research other ways to get faster, if you like!
